Tura Embedded is an ongoing program creating a unique philanthropic opportunity to support access to world class cultural programs to some of the remotes communities in Australia.
Tura Embedded offers a unique opportunity for Champion donors (of $5,000+) to have a lived-in experience of one of Tura’s Regional Programs, becoming steeped in the practice and witnessing the cultural outcomes of those Programs – this is embedded philanthropy.
As part of Tura’s annual Regional Touring Program, Tura has been taking art music programs to remote communities and regional centres, across the Northern Territory and the Kimberley and Pilbara in Western Australia since 2001. Collaborating with local artists and working closely with schools and community organisations, Tura’s Touring Program is powered by connection. Over time, we have built strong relationships and delivered world-class music programs to communities which would never otherwise have experienced anything like it.
Tura’s Regional Residency Program is an initiative that provides opportunities for regional and remote communities to host musicians and sound artists. With this, Tura’s Regional Residencies create, share and inspire new works in response to the landscape and interaction with those very communities. In addition, the program provides communities the rare opportunity to engage and experience high quality performances, workshops and development by leading professionals in new music and sonic arts, usually only available in the major urban centres of Australia.
Tura Embedded program allows Tura donors to travel embedded with the artists and crew throughout the Kimberley. For a fixed price above a minimum donation, Tura Travellers have premium concert packages, special side trips exploring the Kimberley, unique cultural events with the touring entourage, all travel and accommodation and a once in a lifetime experience.
